(Girls) Get Excited

Jaja and I will be having a clothing sale within the next two weeks! (Date TBA)
Lovely dresses and such for sale, ones that even had a great emotional attachment to! Janique's favourite sweet 16 shirt will also be making an appearance at the sale so you'll perhaps be able to snatch a bit of her heart with that buy...

I think I need to get out more because I have nothing more to write about than the sirens I hear morning/night while in my apartment. But, it's getting nicer outside so you should probably light up my phone (or J's) and come over for some balcony beverages.

Okay, so this is what I've been up to since I left the nest and moved in with a baby bird name Janique.

1. Decorating our apartment with theme walls. Current themes: romance. foreign affairs, cultural centre

2. got myself a mini cat named Pascale, she is the best of cats.

3. got evacuated from our apartment abbruptly one Saturday morning when our landlord light her bed on fire. Typical.

4. drinking wine and candle lights; how everynight is spent at 14 Balmoral.

5. FINALLY riding my bike!

6. throwing out half of my closet (same with J) for a clothing sale. Soon TBA, which you best attend (females of course) if you want to get some sweet clothes for cheap $$$.

7. Making extravagant breakfasts on the daily. Here's some news: I have never met anybody that loves 'Dippy eggs' as much as Janique Vigier. EVER.

8. I soon will update some more Janique quotes from the repertoire, my lovely bird has the funniest things to say unintentially, also she teaches a great lesson on how to determine what is actually a mammal.

That's it for now, a mundane life has now been shared with the blogword. (Soon to be changed)

I am sorry I have been absent and neglected you. Moving and exams has left me aloof, but I promise I have now returned.

Dear J,
I hope you aren't mad that I shared this the blogworld, but your words in the bound pages of your childhood journals were just too much to pass up.

The Dreamers

" The first time I saw a movie at the cinématèque française I thought, "Only the French... only the French would house a cinema inside a palace." "

3.15.09. I awake to find lady french and rb sleeping like little angels on the sofa, each with a faint smile on their lips. J says " Sometimes I think that if we are touching feet and holding hands while we're sleeping, we'll dream the same dream," I believe her.

R & J baybay

I just got off the phone with my dearest friend (and crustacian whisperer) Meghan K. Her grandmother gave her two tickets to see the Romeo & Juliet ballet tomorrow night. I think I just peed my pants. I fell in love with Shakespeare at a young age and his work still gives me tingles.

Initially I was planning on wearing fur, and jewels to the ballet, but I think that may be rather ornate for our later destination. After the ballet, and a bottle of wine (I imagine), we plan to head over to the pyramid to check out the NUScollective photo/visual art magazine fundraiser. You should check out the mag, they sell it at LSA, I'm into it.

Ps. Lady french and I found an apartment, we'll be moving in asap. You wouldn't believe the size of the patio, summer time wine and burrs!

Fur & Wine

Fur Friday was celebrated with some sweet babes, high-wasted bottoms and blouses, delicious thai, bottles of wine and champagne all in name of the wonderful squirrel Aimee for her bday.

Bday babe Big Red.

The night was started of with a classy dining at Sukhothai full of great conversations, secrets, stares at and from other tables etc. etc. Once the wine bottles were cracked open at Aimee's the night started to unfold, including careless behavior and photos which resulted in the spilling of a bottle (obviously no wine glasses were used) and my spitting wine all over Aimee's sink, her dance moves really are that great.

The worst mess. Laughing mid sip was a bad choice.

KB showed up, we finished dolling up and did a 'professional' photo shoot of 4 dames decked in fur, wine in hand. First stop" Reuby Tuesday's living quaters. So good to see him, he's a gem, not to mention a mega babe with mad drawing talent. We finally arrived at fellow's house in Wolsely, let's just say the copious amount of fur did not go over so well...

Tired, passing out, and not to mention extreme uncomfort lead us back the little squirrel's apartment with intentions of ending the night with a sweet pal Cornelius.

Awkward.

We thought last night was bad, the morning was even worse. I'll skip the details, but really, blaring Madonna while 2/3 were feeling like they got hit by a truck lead to a few face-toilet bowl trips for some. After a couple of hours of recovery, we made our way to Fresh Cafe. They probably could have served us dog food and we would have eaten it.

My afternoon ended with a date at bar i with lady french , my future roommate/cuddler etc etc. We perused apartments online over lattes and got far too excited in search of our life-sized dollhouse dreams.

Photos to die for from Lolita, the outline for a new living space.
Today was one of the best Saturday afternoon I've had in ages, well spent with wonderful gems.

Daydreaming as always,

Today's resolution: lay off the f-bombs . They've been flying out of these lipstick-ed lips more often than a lady is allowed.

When listening to Beyonce, cat-walking, diva diva etc etc., f-bombs all the way.

Maps, wait...

I've resumed life in maps. It's strange to find comfort in watching the snowflakes fall outside the window in the library, it feels like home.

So long summer

Well today was my last day to enjoy life until summer, back to the snow, books and boredom. It rained like mad so we resorted to some indoor shopping to kill the time. I bought a few gems here and there so I'll post some pics later. Tonight I had the best dinner since I've been here, perhaps even the best dinner I've had in...ages? We went to Captain's Cove and sat alongside the ocean while the sun set. I had the seafood platter with my mother which was lobster tails, shrimp, scallops, grouper, calamari and musles. Blows my mind how great the food was and how unbelieve the servers were. Actually, it made me feel like the laziest server ever which is maybe (sometimes) half true, or so I'd like the think...

Here's a couple of pics I've been meaning to post:

A purchase I made before the trip: vintage blazer, hair bow barrette, wallet.
All from VV boutique.

A traditional Dia de los Muertos skull I bought on the trip.

Ps. I really miss summer. Specifically; riding my babe bike Genevieve, beverages while biking, patio lounging, night life, sangria, dresses, sunnies, bare legs, etc etc.

See you around,

x.

puedo besar su mandillar moustache?

- can I kiss your handlebar moustache?
Meghan agrees this is the phrase for my trip.
Yesterday I arrived in Cancun, not as many mustaches as I had expected. I sadly admit though that I was somewhat envious of all the women who received a rose from their main squeeze for V-day. -Whatever. I on the other hand found happiness while cracking open a Corona and sitting on the beach. The fam and I went for a lovely oceanside dinner the Palapa but due to jetlag (or maybe a few too many Coronas) I retired to my room at..6:30 pm.

I spent the day at the beach studying Biochem, getting destroyed by waves, and inspecting sand crabs on the beach. I swear my animal physiology class has left me too intrigued with nature and animals that I feel i must 'inspect' all interesting things I come across these days.

Well, I'm too sleepy to write and it's almost time for dinner soooo see ya!

Ps. I think I'm taking sailing lessons tomorrow, yep!

she walks (not talks)

Now that lilacs are in bloom
She has a bowl of lilacs in her room
And twists one in her fingers while she talks.
"Ah, my friend, you do not know, you do not know
What life is, you who hold it in your hands”";
(Slowly twisting the lilac stalks)
"You let it flow from you, you let it flow,
And youth is cruel, and has no remorse
And smiles at situations which it cannot see.”
"I smile, of course,And go on drinking tea.“
"Yet with these April sunsets, that somehow recall
My buried life, and Paris in the Spring,
I feel immeasurably at peace, and find the world
To be wonderful and youthful, after all.”"

from Portrait of a Lady by T.S. Eliot

here no one sleeps, one lays up while the other lies down.

exams are finished and my sanity has made a run for it. I'm looking forward to my trip in a week, even if it means reading biochem on a beach. Really, what kind of horrible professor gives an exam the day people get back form reading week...

Anyways, I haven't quite decided which form this blog will take, it was originally meant to be a fashion blog (suprise suprise) but I'm not really sold on this idea these days. I imagine it will be a bit of everything I have on my mind on the daily, at least for now.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about friendships and events that have occured over the past year. I've been laying low since the end of summer and haven't really been interested much in partying or the awkward small talk you have with people that you see out almost every weekend but aren't really friends with. I've made some really rad friends over this hibernation period (?) and feel really lucky to have met these people. I guess I don't really know what else to say about it, unless you've met them then you'd know how awesome they are.

I'm going to go to bed but this video is funny. Courtesy of Aimee ( my biggest girl crush right now) and her serious giggles over this creature:

Ps. I have these two glass sculptures of a boy and a girl sitting on top of my mirror and today the girl came crashing down and shattered. I'm pretty bummed about it to say the least.
